The Path to Healing

Each family is unique, so Child & Family Institute offers several forms of professional counseling to help families heal.

Child and Family Counseling
Professional counseling helps promote healthy child social skills and positive family relationships through:
• Play and sand tray therapy
• Individual, family or group therapy

Community Outreach Counseling
Many children and families living in homeless shelters or transitional housing across the country do not have access to counseling, but in Sacramento we offer them family-focused transitional counseling to help them build a new life and future.

Family Wellness Center
The center offers a myriad of family and child enrichment programs including:
• Psychiatric and medical services
• Resiliency skill-building
• Child mentoring and social skills enhancement

Social Skills Development Groups
Through counseling offered throughout local school districts and communities, participants:
• Develop family life skills and self-control
• Learn substance abuse prevention and violence reduction

Family Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Families and children learn strength-based resiliency and communication skills through:
• Interactive therapy
• Focused family strengthening sessions
• Collaborative risk reduction to children
• Trauma-focused experiential therapies
